A Word From Our Founder

"My vision has always been to have a place where acceptance, encouragement and hope resonate throughout. I know first-hand the frustrations of trying to find resources to help my own children – whether it was through public education or in the private sector. I always found it difficult to get straight answers and even more difficult to access resources that could put our children on the path to success. When I sat across from a mom who had tears in her eyes as she discussed her son, I knew it was time I did something to give families like hers hope again."

The ERG Story

Strong Roots

The ERG was founded by Dr. Lori Perez, a nationally certified school psychologist with expertise in early intervention and the neuropsychological roots of learning disorders. When her own children faced academic challenges linked to cognitive difficulties, she realized a deeper solution was needed.

After discovering the impact of cognitive training, Dr. Perez opened a learning center in 2008, which grew into the Educational Resource Group in 2011.

Continued Growth

As our learning community grew, so did our services. In response to our students’ evolving needs, we expanded our offerings to include executive function coaching, test prep, and other academic programs. We also formed partnerships with local schools to increase access to support.

Our reach soon extended to hundreds of students each year. Along the way, we’ve been honored with multiple “Best Of” awards and featured in local publications for our innovative approach and lasting results. What began as a personal mission became a trusted resource for families seeking clarity, support, and lifelong learning success.

New Horizons

As education rapidly evolves in the post-COVID era, we remain deeply committed to growing alongside our community. With new technologies and shifting student needs, we continue to adapt—ensuring the highest quality support at every step.

Under new ownership, we've integrated educational, medical, and therapeutic services, allowing us to take a whole-child approach. This expanded model offers more comprehensive, collaborative care that addresses academic, emotional, and cognitive needs.

Though we've grown, our mission is unchanged: to empower every learner with the tools and support they need to thrive.

How We're Different

At the Educational Resource Group, we go beyond tutoring - our approach is built on the understanding that academic struggles often stem from deeper cognitive or executive function issues. Simply reteaching content doesn’t solve the root problem.

That’s why we don’t just help students learn what to study—we help them improve how they learn, think, and function. From executive function coaching to cognitive training and personalized intervention plans, every service we offer is designed to build lasting, transferable skills that support lifelong learning.

There’s no one-size-fits-all solution here. We tailor every evaluation, plan, and service to meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring they get the right support to meet their unique needs.

The Power of Integrated Care

As student needs evolve, so does our approach. The ERG’s newly integrated educational, medical, and therapeutic model reflects our belief that students are more than just their report cards—they are whole individuals with interconnected needs.

By uniting experts across disciplines, we address challenges from every angle—academic, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral. This collaborative model leads to deeper insights, more effective plans, and truly personalized support that helps students thrive in every area of life.

ERG is a wonderful resource for parents and students. They provide professional and very high quality assistance for all kinds of students facing educational challenges. Our daughter struggles with executive functioning and math. ERG has really helped her in these areas and we recommend them to any parent with a child who needs help in these areas.

We are so thrilled with the results we have seen with The ERG. Our son was diagnosed with dyslexia about a year ago and we started the cognitive training +reading program last summer. My son is now at grade level for reading (he was a few grades behind so this is a huge accomplishment for him) and we no longer see the frustrations and melt downs that once existed during school work. He loves going there and especially loves tracking his points to earn his next prize! The staff are incredibly nice and flexible. Over the last 8 months, anytime we needed to reschedule or move a session, we had no issues. I highly recommend The ERG!
