Program Overview

EF Coaching helps students build self-management skills that support independent learning and personal growth. Sessions are tailored to each student’s needs and may focus on planning, prioritizing, task initiation, emotional regulation, goal-setting, and sustained attention. Coaches work collaboratively with students to develop practical strategies, implement routines, and build habits that improve both academic performance and day-to-day functioning.

Session Activities

Each session is customized to target specific executive function goals and may include:

  • Creating and maintaining weekly schedules or planners
  • Breaking down long-term assignments into manageable steps
  • Developing homework routines and daily structures
  • Practicing task initiation and follow-through
  • Building systems for organizing materials and information
  • Learning self-monitoring and reflection strategies
  • Managing distractions and increasing sustained attention
  • Developing coping skills for stress and emotional regulation
  • Setting short- and long-term goals with progress tracking

Who It’s For

EF Coaching is most beneficial for students in middle school and above, who struggle with organization, time management, attention, or task completion. It’s especially helpful for students with ADHD, learning differences, or those facing academic challenges that stem from executive function difficulties.
